Cousino Macul Sauvignon Gris 2009                                 $12.99/$155.88

Sauvignon Gris is rare in the New World.  Recently Cousiño’s Sauvignon Gris has been verified as the true varietal, reference by noted ampelographer Pierre Galet, as the certified Varietal 917.  Lightly straw coloured, the nose of this Sauvignon Gris stands out for its notes of white peach and mandarin, with touches of ginger. Medium bodied, it has a full, unctuous texture and a spicy character with tropical fruits. There is a balanced combination of fruit with a silky texture.

Gaia Agiorgitiko Rosé 2009                                                $12.99/$140.00

A dry, medium bodied rose with a deep rose color coming from the 14-18 hours of skin contact. Aromas of strawberry and raspberry are jump towards the nose. A medium textured mouth feel with a nice sweeping, crisp finish. Great with grilled octopus or sardines!

Argiolas Costera 2007                                                              $15.99/$172
The 2007 Costera is the finest of these entry-level bottlings. A massive, generous wine, it literally bursts onto the palate with waves of game, earthiness, mint, spices, herbs and bacon fat notes that swirl around a core of ripe, dark fruit. There is outstanding harmony and balance in the glass, especially at this price point. Costera is 90% Cannonau, 5% Carignano and 5% Bovale Sardo, (all native varieties), that spent roughly 6-8 months in French oak. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2012.  Wine Advocate, 90 pts

Longboard Point Break 2007                                              $17.99/$194.00

A Point Break (as distinct from a Beach Break) offers surfers a unique experience because it focuses the energy of prevailing swells (often from a few directions) into a single wave with a predictable and powerful path. Similarly, this wine focuses the influences of a few red varieties (Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Carignane and Zinfandel) and seamlessly integrates them into an expression of aromas and flavors that reflect the climate of Northern California.
