With your host Len Gulino. This is the most popular class at Harry's Wine School. We will cover everything you need to know about the basics of wine but didn't know what to ask. You will learn the 5 S's of wine tasting, the 4 taste zones of the tongue, the basic grape varieties, and much more. This class is the foundation of all the other classes in our curriculum, and we recommend that even long-time tasters will benefit from it. The concepts and techniques that you learn here will apply to any and all future wine tastings that you will ever attend.

Starry night Mourvedre 2011 $14.99

Mourvedre, which is widely planted in Spain
and France, has a long history in California with plantings dating back over 100 years. Our Mourvedre comes from head pruned vines planted at an elevation of 1,200 feet above a large, well know lake in Northern California. These vines produce a small crop that hangs late into the growing season and allows for fully developed flavors of ripe plums and blackberries with hints of sage, cocoa and anise.

Project PAM is brewed with an abundance of hops including, Chinook, Nugget, Centennial, Amarillo, El Dorado and Mosaic. Itís balanced with Crystal and Midnight Wheat malts and finally aged in maple syrup bourbon barrels to add complex oaky bourbon notes and the sweetness of maple syrup. Project PAM clocks in at 10.8% ABV.

Orchard Gate Gold as a unique Artisan Michigan Farmhouse Cider, somewhere between English Scrumpy and a Normandy Cidre. After the harvest, we press our organic apples and allow them to slowly ferment for up to six months. We then carefully hand-fill and label each bottle and let it age for
several weeks to properly condition. There are only two ingredients in this Orchard Gate Gold: Apple Juice and Yeast. No artificial flavors or colors and - of course - no sulfite nor preservatives of any kind.

Mahogany Clear and brilliant in color. Powerful and refined nose. Nuances of plum, crystallized citrus fruits opening out to aromas of nuts (almond and hazel). On the palate supple and gentle attack. Good mouth feel, lasts well. Aromas of tart tatin with hints of grilled hazelnut. Very agreeable finish of toffee and cherries.
