Please join us on March 2nd as Harry's Wine School presents: "A Balancing Act".
Continuing from where our Wine 101 Class left us, we’ll explore today’s welcome trend towards balanced wines produced without manipulation and how that is a reversal of the ‘Parkerization’ of behemoth, syrupy wines too high in alcohol and too low in acidity. Taste a selection of wines displaying lower alcohol naturally balanced with brighter acidity, a more contemplative style of wine being eagerly embraced by wine lovers and sommeliers!

Paolo Bea Pipparello
2009 $69.99
The Bea family has lived in the beautiful Umbrian hill town of Montefalco since before the year 1500. Their 40 acre estate is a classic Italian fattoria, producing wine, raising farm animals and working the land to produce olives, fruits and vegetables, using only organic methods. Made from a single-vineyard blend of 60% Sangiovese, 25% Montepulciano and 15% Sagrantino, with a slow fermentation las
ting an astounding 40 days or more! The resulting wine is decidedly old-world in style, with dark, brooding cherries and plums enlivened by toasted spices and woodsmoke supported by firm tannins and mineral notes.
