As pinot gris goes this bottle is among the best in the world – and it doesn’t come from France (where, in Alsace, pinot gris is a leading variety) or from Italy (think of all those pinot grigios). It comes from one of the top producers in New Zealand. And what a wine! The aroma is a bolt of spring itself. The pear, spice cake, and cream puff flavors are right out of an Austrian pastry shop.
