Francois Carillon Puligny-Montrachet
| Vinous 89 points (Sep 2015)
(these 2013s were bottled in April, after spending six months in cuves): Very pale yellow. Expressive aromas of lime, brioche and porcini. Supple, juicy wine with sappy saline minerality giving it a rather linear quality in the early going. Finishes firm and a touch dry but with delicacy and length.
Wine Advocate 88 points (Dec 2014)
Raised in a judicious 10-12% new oak, the 2013 Puligny-Montrachet has a more reticent nose compared to the Chassagne premier crus at the moment. The palate is taut on the malic entry, with a pleasant twist of lemon. There is satisfactory weight in the mouth with a saline aftertaste that lingers long after the wine has departed. This is commendable wine, one that I think will be best consumed in its youth.
