The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Cherryblock is another brilliant effort from Sebastiani. Dark black cherry, blackcurrant, plum, licorice and forest floor characteristics are present in this inky, opaque ruby/purple-colored wine. Full-bodied with supple tannins, a multilayered mouthfeel, and plenty of purity, flavor depth and length, it is approachable now, but should age effortlessly for 15 or more years.

Taut and firm, with rustic, dusty, cedary, dill-laced oak framing a dense core of herb-scented dark berry and licorice flavors. Never quite works past the rugged opening. Drink now through 2024. 500 cases made.-JL
