Bright yellow. Peach nectar, oatmeal, white flowers and crushed stone on the nose. Fat, sweet and voluminous; dense with extract. Chewy wet stone and saline mineral flavors--as well as an oak element--currently dominate underlying stone fruits. More solid than juicy today, but fresh rather than heavy. ”The strongest appellations were able to digest the extreme concentration and richness of the vintage,” noted winemaker Frederic Barnier.

The 2012 Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrieres comes from two sources. There is a touch more exoticism on the nose compared to the Genevrieres with seductive almond and coconut scents informing the citrus fruit. The palate is voluminous in the mouth, understated at first but then that mineral -wave- crashes upon the shore. Long with a nutty finish, this is a sublime Perrieres that will surely repay cellaring.
