Domaine Jean Grivot Vosne-Romanee

The 2012 Vosne-Romanee Village also comes from several parcels around the village. The nose is well defined with lively red berry fruit leaping from the glass like yapping puppies. The palate is medium-bodied with orange rind lining the entry. Chalky tannins here, quite compact towards the finish, but this village cru is fresh and tense and will probably represent a more wallet-friendly option to Grivot’s 2012s.

Elegant and firm, with a taut frame supporting the cherry, strawberry and floral flavors. Still compact on the finish, yet with energy and a peppery spiciness. Best from 2017 through 2026. 150 cases imported.-BS

Medium red. Ripe aromas of musky redcurrant, red raspberry and dried flowers. Sweet, fully ripe and highly concentrated, offering terrific drinkability now but also the sappy mineral energy to evolve gracefully in the bottle. Quite palate-staining for village wine, finishing with pungent lingering saline minerality.
|Wine maker notes
|A typical blend of many plots in Vosne Romanee. It becomes more perfumed adn velvety after 4 or 5 years in the bottle and is also worth keeping for years in lesser vintages.
