Domaine Alain Chavy Puligny-Montrachet
| Wine Spectator 87 points (Jun 15 2015)
On the tart side, this white reveals vanilla, honey, chamomile and apple flavors. The vivid acidity leaves a mouthwatering impression. Best from 2017 through 2023. 150 cases imported.-BS

The 2012 Puligny-Montrachet Village comes from several parcels from both the Meursault and Chassagne flanks of the appellation. The nose is quite reduced at first and demands coaxing, but eventually reveals light pear and linden notes with aeration, although the oak needs to be more fully integrated by the time of bottling. The palate is nicely balanced with simple, crisp green apple, pear and citrus peel notes, rendering a straight-down-the-line, orthodox Puligny for early drinking. But there is nothing wrong with that.
