Grown on the site of founder Maté Brajkovich's first vineyard planted after he bought the land in 1944. The first chardonnay grapes weren't harvested from here until a year after Maté's death in 1993. Since then this cuvée has become their signature wine. Alongside the tropical and grapefruit notes the subtle oakiness introduces an almost smoky charecteristic which gives it a quite beguiling complexity. This and the long, lingering finish manages to set it a notch above their other single vineyard wines.
