80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc A deep purple color, with a soft, delicate nose of ripe black fruit. Powerful, round, full-bodied and velvety tannins on the palate. ~Winery Notes
In Chteau Au Pont de Guitres, the subsoil is clay, which permits a beautiful expression of red fruits. The name Pont de Guitres comes from the little bridge crossing the Barbanne stream (that is the limit between Pomerol and Lalande de Pomerol). The estate has been passed from generation to generation and over the years it has flourished in size and innovation. In 1986, Ramy Rousselot took over the property from his parents and along with his wife Ghislaine, they have gradually added plots from the best terroirs and today it comprises four hectares. They continue to improve winemaking techniques while respecting family traditions and cultivate the vines following sustainable principles. Together with their son Cyril, they are passionate about producing top quality wines from their family estate in the Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation.
