Beautiful light-weighted pink colour, intriguing aroma of fine red fruits (cherry, wild strawberries) accompanied by delicate floral hints (violets) and (youthful) yeasty notes. A refreshing front palate with lively acid elements, then a red-fruited mid-palate with a juicy profile, medium body, balanced, really much fun based, finely structured with a pleasant floral and slightly herbal finale.
Only a few people might know that the family of Dr. Zweigelt, who managed to interbreed a new variety out of Blaufränkisch and St. Laurent in 1921, had vineyards in Langenlois. Actually the Bründlmayer family own the former Zweigelt cellar and part of the vineyards. We make a varietal wine from Zweigelt but also blend it with other grape varieties where it contributes deep fruit and body
